Finasteride might not just be strong enough for you and that the hair loss you've been getting the last year would happen either way.

You think it’s time to start taking duta more than once a week? I’m nervous it will make my hairline worse.

Not sure, maybe? Either way, once a week seems pretty soft. Try at least 3 times a week or just flat out drop finasteride and go duta every day.

I didn't experience heavy shedding like this while on treatment at any point.

Finasteride stopped my hair loss by maybe 80% and dutasteride once I went on that and dropped Fina it probably stopped 98% of it. I probably receeded a little bit while on finasteride but it was obvious it was not strong enough for me once I tried dutasteride.

Interesting. But I’m 28

at 28 i would not describe your hair status as a ''nightmare'' like you quoted. maybe it would be better with an overall picture but it does not look that aggressive for a late 20's guy.

Hey man, how long you have been on dutasteride? Do you also see some regrowth?

Man judging from these pics you posted alone your corners don't even look bad. do you have other pics showcasing your entire hairline? sh*t looks like a mature hairline with those edges/corners though I'm hearing you out on the hair fall. the temples don't look too much past mature

Decided to come back to this thread. Man this kid is absolutely retarded lol. He's not even balding and instead killed his hair with finasteride he didn't need. Looked at his old pics he thought his crown and "nape" were thinning when everything was completely normal lololol. all his pics are zoomed in like crazy, I think he's counting each and every hair follicle LMFAO. This place is scary sometimes

You could have very sensitive androgen receptors which still doing its work by remaining dht in your body. If you have good donor area then go for hair transplant.

Tbh I see no difference since before. But who knows it’s hard to tell from photos unless there is a drastic change.

If you’re going to go the route of dutasteride why not just take it daily?

You haven’t settled in to a consistent regimen so you haven’t given your hair a chance to stabilise.

I have switched treatments a good amount over the past 17 months but I give every switch at least 6 months sometimes more which should be enough time for your hair to stabilize.

Why not just take 1mg finasteride daily like most people and stick with it? Panicking every six months and changing regimen following the advice of this forum’s neurotic broscientists is not a good plan.

Not very much no, mostly considerable decrease in hair loss.

Been on Duta since April 22nd 2018.

What were you shedding prior to duta then what did it lessen too?

I never went through an increased shed during any period except for maybe a duration of 10 or so days when I was 2 weeks into topical minoxidil*. No extra shed from fina or duta. Before jumping on finasteride, I guess my noticeable hair loss that fell down on my desk, my shirt and on to my hands were 100-200 I guess, but I never bothered counting consistently.

In shower I got about 20-40 hairs in my hands when not on treatment, depending on how much I tugged, following up by a dozen in my towel. Keto shampoo helped a bit with that because I had some scalp concerns that it solved so I'm not on keto shampoo anymore. Finasteride dropped the hairs in the shower down to 10-15 depending on the day I guess, dutasteride down to 0-5 per day.

*Topical minoxidil never did anything for me, worsened my hair quality and possibly made my hair thinner in the area where I used it. Just jumped on oral mino, we'll see how it goes.

0-5 a day? Hell yea mate. I would be so pumped if I were you.

I am, I just want my hair to be in a state where I don't need to use hair fibres, even just for a little while. That's why I'm trying oral mino, topical didn't do anything for me. I don't think it requires THAT much for me to get to that state, just that whatever I'm using need to start working. I'm a diffuser but I don't have particularly fine hair, so I don't look like I'm balding if I went the route of just having my hair down flat on the head but that is for my 40s hopefully and not in my late 20s.
