I'm only 24 right now and a receding hairline started at a young age for me. At the moment I keep the front of my hair long and it tends to cover up my hairline so people don't really notice it..but let's face it. I'm balding. It's been going on for years but it seems like the process has been really slow. Lately I've taken a look at my hair in the mirror and damn..I'm only 24.
There are very few things that would shatter my confidence..and thinning is doing just that. If it keeps going then I'm going to have to shave my hair eventually and just wear hats..I don't want to do that. It's honestly been having a big effect on me, and since I usually keep my hair fairly long my hairline is covered so I don't have to see it. I've definitely been in denial.
I really want to do something about this though. I've heard of taking minoxidil and propecia but my concern is if they have any side effects or serious effects to my health? I've heard that sometimes they can cause more hairloss? I definitely don't want that, I still have some hair. Initially I think..can these treatments increase my likelyhood of cancer? Can It lower/raise my blood pressure? Besides being a pretty short and skinny guy I'm actually in great health and that's something I would not want to put at risk. While it clearly isn't the worst ever, it's pretty bad and it's effecting my mental health.
