Hairline's Been Receding..what Can I Do About This?

I'm only 24 right now and a receding hairline started at a young age for me. At the moment I keep the front of my hair long and it tends to cover up my hairline so people don't really notice it..but let's face it. I'm balding. It's been going on for years but it seems like the process has been really slow. Lately I've taken a look at my hair in the mirror and damn..I'm only 24.

There are very few things that would shatter my confidence..and thinning is doing just that. If it keeps going then I'm going to have to shave my hair eventually and just wear hats..I don't want to do that. It's honestly been having a big effect on me, and since I usually keep my hair fairly long my hairline is covered so I don't have to see it. I've definitely been in denial.

I really want to do something about this though. I've heard of taking minoxidil and propecia but my concern is if they have any side effects or serious effects to my health? I've heard that sometimes they can cause more hairloss? I definitely don't want that, I still have some hair. Initially I think..can these treatments increase my likelyhood of cancer? Can It lower/raise my blood pressure? Besides being a pretty short and skinny guy I'm actually in great health and that's something I would not want to put at risk. But receding itself is having a really big effect on me. My confidence is shattering. Society makes receding seem like the worst thing ever. While it clearly isn't the worst ever, it's pretty bad and it's effecting my mental health. Sometimes I don't feel like going out, and I don't mean to sound too dramatic, but I'm sure some people here can understand that right?

In a nutshell, this thing has been shattering my confidence and I'm looking for something to do about it. I've wanted to try minoxidil but I hear that it doesn't really have an effect on the temple/hairline area? The back of my head is perfectly full, it's the front that's suffering. Thanks all that took the time to read what I had to say.

It's real simple, either take finasteride or go bald.

Going bald has worse side effects then taking finasteride.

This something I need to see a Doctor to get? Would a doctor be recommended? or can I just buy it anywhere

Take my advice, and stop over analyzing everything you read.

Forgot what you know.

Go see your doctor, and get a prescription.

Maintain your hair, and in the future get a transplant to add density, and restore your hairline and temples.

the sooner you act, the better.

Finasteride has grown my temples down and improved density! Honestly if you take the drug you might not even need a hair transplant for years. Best of luck bro.

Thanks man. I guess a visit to my primary doctor will be in place.
