Hairline worsening?

Hi guys, so I got on finasteride in hopes that my hairline wouldn't recede any more, and if I was lucky to get some of my hair back. I'm 4 months on Finn and I don't see any good progress so far.. I'm not 100% sure but it looks like my hairline has gone back further. I'm 21, my familys hairline does recede, but usually not until there 30s and mine has gone back the worst out of everybody. I never got a DHT test before starting finasteride, the doctor just gave me it. Is there a chance that finn isn't helping, and is actually screwing with my hormone levels and could be making my hair worse? Should I stop finasteride and get DHT tests, and then restart Finn if my DHT is too high? If i do stop finasteride how do I go about doing it, right now I take 1.25mg every other day.

Also, I believe it is usually the case that finasteride stops further loss and minoxidil grows more hair.

I haven't noticed anything too much.. watery ejaculation that's about it. Anybody else have an opinion.. really need to know if I should stop taking finasteride or not.
