2nd day underway of @HairClone 3-day workshop in Manchester @HigginsBioeng @Vinny011160 and others! Exciting 2017 ahead of us :)

Exciting 2017 indeed.

For those unaware, Dr. Farjo is is one of the founding clinical partners of HairClone, a company developing a cellular based hair regeneration treatment. In this tweet he tagged @HigginsBioeng which is the Twitter account of Dr. Claire Higgins’ lab. Apparently the entire team has been working diligently and they are moving things forward. CEO of HairClone Paul Kemp recently told me they will be providing an update on their work soon.

Dr. Farjo also added on Twitter “(we are) Not trialing yet @HairClone, but doing investigative clinical work in preparation.”

For those who have been asking lately if HairClone could begin treatments this year (2nd half 2017) and how this would be possible please refer to this article A New Approach to Solving Hair Loss: HairClone. The company continues to seek funding to continue their plan of development.

A baldness cure should have been a reality a decade ago. At this point, it's become more than just a joke, it's painfully embarrassing. The market is there... so why isn't there a REAL push for taking research past clinical trials?

I'd make the argument that a baldness cure should've been a reality decades ago.

Last week, I was reading something that found that alopecia rates are on the rise, especially among the younger population and it's of course causing more people to seek treatment.

The reason I think we haven't seen as many players in the game as we have now is simply because of money.

I saw this video on my facebook feed that a friend commented on and it really pissed me off. It was some a**h** going on about "embracing the bald" because he's a 20-something that's balding and coping. No shortage of other fools agreeing with him; though most didn't seem to be balding themselves.

This does nothing but damage because it reinforces the attitude that it's not a problem at all and discourages doctors from caring about it, investors from investing in it, etc. especially when you factor in the lenghty FDA trials. Took 3 docs before one told me about finasteride and he was in his 30s and not even balding in the slightest.

Hairloss, when you're middle-age is an unfortunate reminder that your youth is in the rearview mirror, your looks are fading and maybe in 15 years you'll be bald. This is how it goes for most people. Hairloss, when you're in your teens or 20s, is a life-ruining experience, socially isolating and is mentally exhausting. Most people aren't even aware of the latter group's existence and the "just shave it" bros only deter serious pursuit of solutions.

But times are changing. Peoples "primes" in terms of looks, fitness and social life are lasting longer than ever, people aren't just getting married off and pumping out kids at 25 anymore, my generation will be working well into "retirement" ages of previous gens, and we're living in an age where first impressions are everything and there's no going back.

A world where you can print organs, bionic arms from home, AIs running more aspects of society and your car driving you to work, but can't have some f*****g hair on your head is not going to be an acceptable situation for much longer.
