Hair vs blood pressure dosages, how do they differ?

I noted how that doctor on http://www.baldingblog.com hedges his comments about dutasteride, but did make the occasional comment or two about folks taking it for blood pressure.

So good ol' analytical me would like to know the difference between how much folks take for hair regrowth vs. the amount subscribed for health reasons.

Also, anyone know how far out the studies for dutasteride for health reasons go, 10, 15 years?

Are you sure he said "blood pressure" and not "benign prostatic hyperplasia" or BPH? That is what dutasteride is intended for....like Proscar. The prescribed dose for BPH is .5 mg which is also what most are taking for hairloss. The drug itself has only been around for a few years so any long term effects are generally unknown, although it's believed to be a safe drug.
