This case study presents the comprehensive hair restoration journey of Mr. Rohit Gore, a 29-year-old male from Bengaluru, who visited Hairfree and Hairgrow Clinic for corrective hair transplant treatment.

Rohit had been experiencing progressive hair loss for nearly a decade and previously underwent an unsatisfactory hair transplant at another center. His second procedure at our clinic was planned with detailed medical evaluation, precision technique, and structured postoperative care.

Patient Profile

  • Age 29 years
  • Residence: Bengaluru, India
  • Duration of hair loss: 9 to 10 years
  • Pattern of baldness: Frontal hairline recession, crown thinning, Grade 5 baldness
  • Mid-scalp density was Adequate and did not require grafting
Rohit reported mild dandruff with occasional itching and small scalp lesions. He also noted very mild ongoing hair fall. His family history was positive for hereditary baldness through his father.

Medical Background

  • No history of hypertension, diabetes, asthma, or chronic diseases
  • All laboratory investigations were within normal limits.
  • No previous major surgery
  • No known allergies
  • No history of keloid formation
Rohit had undergone a previous hair transplant elsewhere, but the hairline appeared unnatural, and the density was insufficient. Due to dissatisfaction with the earlier results, he approached our clinic for a corrective procedure.

Consultation and Pre-Surgical Assessment

During his consultation at India’s Best Hair Transplant Clinic Hairfree and Hairgrow in Surat, Dr. Jinkal Kunjadiya conducted a thorough scalp evaluation. The doctor explained the entire treatment process, including advantages, limitations, and realistic expectations of a second hair transplant. After understanding the procedure clearly, Rohit agreed to proceed with the surgery.

Assessment Highlights

  • Trichoscopy was performed to analyze donor hair quality and scalp condition
  • The donor area showed average density with thin, curly, and lightly pigmented hair.
  • A local anesthesia sensitivity test was conducted and found safe
  • Scalp prepared by shaving and aseptic cleansing

Treatment Plan and Procedure

Rohit underwent an I-FUE transplant on 21 October 2021. The plan included improving his frontal hairline, enhancing frontal density, and partially restoring the crown region.

Treatment Components

  • Transplant technique I-FUE
  • Total grafts harvested: 3800
  • Post-operative PRP: 4 to 5 sessions over one year
  • Medications: DHT blockers, nutritional supplements, minoxidil 5 percent and 10 percent
The surgical process was divided into multiple precise steps.

Procedure Steps

  • Planning and Design
A natural and age-appropriate hairline was drawn. The crown was marked for density enhancement, while the mid-scalp was spared due to adequate existing hair.

  • Local Anesthesia
A modified block anesthesia technique was used to ensure minimal discomfort. Rohit experienced little to no pain during this phase.

  • Slit Creation
    • Metal sapphire tip blade used
    • Blade size 1.2 mm for the hairline and 1.4 mm for other regions
    • Slits made with the correct angle and direction for natural alignment
  • Graft Extraction
    • Performed with a 0.8 mm sharp micro-punch under magnification
    • Approximately 3800 grafts were harvested in three hours
    • Grafts preserved at 4 degrees Celsius in RL solution
    • Graft composition included 20 percent single units and 80 percent multiple units; double-root grafts were predominant.
  • Implantation
    • K.E.E.P. implanters are used to minimize follicle handling and root damage
    • Implantation completed in approximately three and a half hours
    • Recipient area dressed and post-procedure medications provided
A dedicated follow-up number was given to Rohit to ensure continuous communication and support during his recovery phase.

Post-Operative Journey

Rohit's recovery and growth process followed the standard hair transplant cycle.

Shedding Phase

In the first two to three months, approximately 60 to 70 percent of the transplanted hair shafts shed. This is a normal biological process where the hair root remains intact beneath the skin. Donor area healing was completed by 40 days, and full normalization was seen by two to three months. The first PRP session was performed after two months.

Growth Phase

New hair growth began around the third month. On average, 25 percent of the transplanted hair emerged each month. By the eighth month, nearly 80 percent of visible growth had been achieved. Rohit had his first haircut around the fifth month. Initially fine, the transplanted hair gradually thickened. Additional PRP sessions were performed to support both transplanted and existing hair.

Final Result

By one year, Rohit achieved full growth with a natural hairline, improved density, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. He regularly styled his hair and had undergone multiple haircuts. He was advised to continue minoxidil and periodic PRP sessions every three to four months for maintenance.

Rohit expressed high satisfaction with his result, noting significant improvement in confidence and appearance. Patients with similar concerns are encouraged to visit Hairfree and Hairgrow Clinic for a detailed assessment and personalized treatment plan.
