hair transplant for cosmetic purposes?

Let me first introduce myself:

I'm an 18 year with an very noticeable receding hairline - Around the Northwood scale of 2+.

The issue here is that the hairline's naturally high. My family does have a history (My dad and all his brothers are bald) of male pattern baldness but I don't think I will lose hair until at least 28. My main concern now is my current hairline. Minoxidil and propecia wont help.

I hate having to grow long bangs, and only to be laughed at when the wind strikes. I need to end this mess once and for all.

There are few questions I want to ask before I make my mind up.

1. Will surgeons in the UK do hair transplant for cosmetic purposes?
2. Will the transplanted hairs grow on areas that originally have no hair?
3. How much does an average hair transplant cost?

Any replies will be greatly appreciated

the answers to your questions are:

1, yes almost all hair transplant are for cosmetic purposes. Just because your bald doesn't make it non-cosmetic

2, yes. Transplanted hairs will grow on any part of the body.

3, depends on the technique. for 1000 grafts with strip method around £2000 and FUE method around £4000

hope this helps

No, Good surgeons will tell to wait until your hair has stabilised. Your 18.. he does one now and by the time you are 40 you could NW7. Your transplanted hair would look silly...

Not really true. You see, the guy has no visual hair loss. He has a naturally large forehead. While he may have some in the future, it up to the physician to make that call.

Go to a REPUTABLE physician for a consultation.
