Basically I have been unlucky enough to have trash genetics for hair - nearly all of my male relatives suffer from male pattern baldness.
My dad, 6 out of 8 of my uncles on my mothers side and another bald uncle on my dads side.
I've come to accept the fact that I'm going to go bald eventually, but I really do not want to go bald EARLY. I'm 18 years old at the moment and pretty much have a good head of hair with slightly receeding temples. I'd say im somewhere between a nw1 nw2 hairline.
(I have afro textured hair btw)

Now to the crux of my thread.
Around 5 months ago during exam season, the left side of my hear suddenly became thin to the point where you could faintly see the scalp on the left side of my head but the right was still thick. Fast forward a couple months and the left side of my head is back to its normal thickness, but now the right side on my head has become thinner than it used to. Again, you can faintly see my scalp through my afro.

Is this a normal part of the balding process? I have a hunch that it may be hypothyroidism since I started getting panic attacks as well during exam season (however this may be attributed to stress from revising from exam). But I really don't know atm and am confused.
Any insights?
