Just to give a quick update. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I switched to dutasteride 3.5 months ago after Propecia started losing its effectiveness after 11 years of use. I take .5 mg a night. I also wash with Nizoral 2% two or three times a week.

A month and a half into dutasteride, I was dealt a pretty bad shed that lasted two or three weeks. I also went through a massive shed after taking Revita. I stopped taking that poison four months ago and subsequently the shed also stopped at that time, but none of that hair has grown back. None of the hair from my dutasteride shed has grown back. I though the hair lost through a shed was supposed to grow back after two or three months. My hair is the thinnest it has been in my entire life. I am not losing hair at the same rate as during my shed a month and a half into dutasteride, but I am still losing quite a bit of hair everyday. My hair is like spiderweb threads now. It is awful. Everyday I hope new hair will grow back in. I promise to continue to update with my progress since there is not much info on the web about success with dutasteride and not much info. about switching from Propecia to dutasteride.

I switched because I was losing so much ground on Proscar. I am planning on taking dutasteride 3 times a week and hope it stops my loss. There's some study that dutasteride works well at a dosage of 2.5 mg, but I'm afraid to take that much.
