Hair Thinning But How Can This Be Possible?

For the last year my hair is thinning so fast I can literally see the change day by day getting worse.

HOWEVER the strange thing is that I never find or see any hair falling out. I've been on finasteride for the last year and that is clearly working, but my hair is still thinning so quickly it's scary.

How can that even be possible? Surely I'd be seeing the hair falling out on my pillow, in the comb or in the drain after a shower but weirdly I'm finding pretty much nothing. They say you lose 150 a day, I'd be lucky to find if I looked 3.

So how can it be that my hair is thinning so noticeably so fast day by day if it's not falling out? It's like the hair is just disappearing. And for those of you who will say it's just not growing back properly, it's happening too fast for that to make any logical sense.

Really weird. Thoughts?

Maybe the hair follicles themselves are getting thinner?
When I went bald I never experienced thinning or shedding, my follicles just grew back shorter and shorter until they were no more.

Over how long did this happen? For me it seems I've lost probably 70% of my hair in around only 18 months.
