Okay so i had some some bare spots on my crown for at least 6 months to a year if not longer and in those spots i recently seeing a few new sprouts but they are super fine although they are pigmented dark brown..they are growing though over past few weeks..not enough to be cosmetic difference BUT is this possibly new growth?
Will they fall out and thicken up a few times?
Does new growth 'cycle" out few times?
I also had a massive shed this week in shower lost about 50 -100 short very skinny fiber like hairs about 1 inch long.( Not these new ones i am seeing though they are still there).

If you are using either minoxidil or finasteride, the little short hair is the "intermediate" stage between vellus hair and full-blown long hair, so I would be optimistic. To evaluate my treatment, my derm always asks: do you see small hair in the sink / shower when you wash your hair?

I am on keto 2% 2-3x a week for 5 months.
I do see some new hairs coming in that look a little better but freaking me out to see these hairs shed it did it again today..i used regular shampoo just to see if made a difference.

This is what he says. If the short hair you lose is a lot, it means new hair is growing, he says. At least some of this "micro" hair will grow "adult".
However, I understand this typical of minoxidil. Do you use Rogaine for women or just keto shampoo?

for now just keto--i had anemia when i saw hair transplant surgeon so he wanted me to get my iron up see how i do..his opinion a lot of my loss is from the low iron...hes being conservative with me..im going back i think tomorrow to talk to him..i may/may not add minoxidil or topical spironolactone..see what he says from my blood reports and looking at scalp.
I just got nervous from those hairs.

I have anemia too. I have the thalassemia gene (not fully blown, I am a carrier).
But my iron is just a little below the normal range, so unfortunately it is not that causing hair loss.
I think local spironolactone can help a lot in the case of a woman. Keep us posted :)
