The thing with "supplements" is that there is no actual documented proof either clinical or private regarding their efficacy. What I think you should do, is stop taking them for 3 or 4 months and see what happens. Take pictures now, and then take pictures 4 months later to see if there is a DRAMATIC change for the worse in your hair's health, density, and/or thickness. I emphasise the word dramatic because 4 months is a long time... natural atrophy of the follicle could occur in that time frame, although not usually very dramatic. If it looks like things have changed, then you can assume that the change was due to the cessation of the hair pills.
Usually 4 months is a good timeframe to judge any product to see if it's working or not, because the hair has a 100 (approximately) day telogen phase, so any form of regrowth, or thickening won't be noticeable until the hair is shed and actually starts growing again.
