Hair Loss Treatment Advice - Finansteride At 17 Years Old?

As someone who is potentially going to get on treatments. What's the best way to go? I've heard it's pretty much finansteride to keep the hair and adding minoxidil to gain some of the lost hair back.
What's the risk factor about finansteride? And If I do get side effects, can those be permanent? (I don't want to mess up my private part for the rest of my life at 17 years old).
Could I get on finansteride and add minoxidil until I gain the hair I want back to then get off minoxidil but stay on finansteride?
When reading about finansteride I usually hear about people complaining that it's a lifetime commitment (Which I'm perfectly okay with), however on the other hand I read about some people where it lost it affect at 2-10 years.

Lots of responses are much appreciated!

What does your hair look like right now? Post photos. I wouldn't recommend finasteride until you are a few years older, and you can't legally get it prescribed until you're 18.

Well the reason I'm asking this is because I'm soon going to a derm to have my male pattern baldness confirmed or not, I don't really need an evaluation on here. Just want to find out a bit more about possible treatments I might get on, not sure if I only want to trust the derm as he might just want to sell me stuff. Anyways I'm a natural nw2 and I might have had slight recession, also a little thinning on top however I can still pull off an acceptable look without anyone noticing the problem.
