I need your opinion on what might be happening to my hair. I am 25 and I started losing hair around 3 years ago. The loss started on one side as you can see and is gradually spreading on the top of my scalp. I have a weird pain/burning sensation on the side which is worse on the side I am losing hair in. My hair line generally seems to be intact but there's certain areas where if I pull slightly on the hair a bit, 3-5 very thick ones will come out along with bulbs. I'm generally a hairy dude and I have noticed that even hair is coming out easily from some places on my chest.
So far I have tried Nizoral / minoxidil/ Some loreal shampoos/anti fungal cream for jock itch and nothing seems to be working. My doctor did a testosterone test and it's coming out to be on the low side (within range but towards the lower side). Iron / zinc / Thyroid / LFT /Syphillus have all come out to be normal and my doctor thinks it is male pattern baldness. Is it male pattern baldness and should I get on finasteride? Please help me.
I also want to mention that there is a line of hair right in the middle of my scalp where hair is turning completely silver.
