Hair Loss & Itchy Scalp That Itches

When your losing your hair is it normal for your scalp to itch in the areas you’re losing your hair? I normally shave my head but I noticed if I don’t shave for a couple weeks then my scalp itches like crazy. Sometimes I even break out in hives.
When I had hair I battled with an itchy scalp and tried many dandruff shampoos which didn’t offer any relief.
