My hair loss is getting worse and worse. I've been using Minoxidil for at least a month and just started noticing my hair is growing out a dark brown where I am usually gray. Not that I am complaining! Does this mean it's working? Why does it look worse? Do I just need to be patient? I have an appointment with dermatologist on the 11th. It seems so far! I've just started dating a new guy and I can't hide it much longer. I'm taking vitamin d and iron - since I've had a 2 week period. (Menopause? Have a Gyno appointment on 9th). Thanks for reading!!

I think people have variety of experiences so i cant speak for everyone.

I personally am on it for 2 months maybe now like 9 or 10 weeks....

I am having a great response to it--i say great because i had very low expectations..so time will tell.

But I did shed heavy for about 2 weeks...Two weeks nothing then two weeks shedding..then i started to see hair growth in magnifying mirror about 5th week...SO it think by most standards this was quick. I was told not to expect anything for a few months but i saw hair in less than 2 months. Also it can help maintain for some without any regrowth so keep that in mind.

I do notice i have a lot less grey hair coming--i dont know why. I never heard minoxidil does this but maybe its making more dark hairs grow in so it appears to be less grey? i dont know

I would definitely work to make sure you have a good ferritin level---ferritin around 70s can help hair loss treatments like Minoxidil work more effectively and efficiently.

If you are bleeding heavy like that its possible you have low ferritin.

Mine started at 10 it was that level for at least 3 years (when i really noticed hair loss) I got mine up to 60..then started hair treatments and so far having good response.
