Hair loss genes question...

I'm a 22 y/o male and am on a NW2 but my left temple is weak and right one not good either (but stronger) and overall the first 1/2 inch of my hairline is has less volume and more spaced and in the middle extending almost 1 inch into my hairline I developed a kinda like a cavity but it's also mild, so I'm in early male pattern baldness. I also had a miniturization study done to confirm male pattern baldness and the Doctor said it's significant for my age but then again any hairloss besides NW2 is significant for my age IMO!! And I'm on Propecia for 3 months now.

My question is how could I have gotten male pattern baldness so early with weak family history of male pattern baldness?Everybody in my family has great hair I know as far as great grandfathers, uncles, cousins etc. Nobody went past NW2 or 2.5 (but that one way later in life) others even had the perfect straight hairline. My father is a NW5 at age 64 but he didn't start losing it till about 35 and 1 uncle (mom's brother) didn't start losing it till 30 and became a NW3 with some mid anterior thinning and stayed that way till today (he is 40 now).

Since male pattern baldness already started for me and there is no going back, can Propecia help me for a long time since I have such a weak male pattern baldness family history or can I just hope hair cloning will come out soon? I doubt I can have bad genes, since I have a weak male pattern baldness family history. I hope to have my hair till I'm like 30 or so I just don't wanna thin in my 20s!!

It's impossible to predict hair loss. Yours may stop right now or it may go on. However, generally guys in their early 20s experience some maturing (which is hair loss, just a nicer word because it isn't unattractive), so I wouldn't worry. Watch it closely, but don't obsess. If it continues to get worse, hop on finasteride (that's the active ingredient in Propecia, there are several generic versions I would recommend).

I hope to have my hair till I'm like 30 or so

If you're making wishes, wish to keep it forever. You'll still care at 30.

can I just hope hair cloning will come out soon?

Never make any plans under the assumption that hair cloning is a possibility. It's been a 5-year possibility for 30 years.

I probably would care at 30 but much less! There is about a 30-35% incidence of men have male pattern baldness to some degree in the 30s so it wouldn't make me feel alone and by then I would look more mature and it would fit me better. In the 20s only about 10% have male pattern baldness and my age at 22 maybe like 3%. When I was a teen I had bad acne, but then I didn't care too much since many teens have acne but when I was 19 and it was still there I become very self conscious since I was heading toward adulthood and not many men as adults have acne so I took accutane and it got rid of it.

Another question...is it possible to have a bad/aggressive genetic code with a weak male pattern baldness family history?

Yes. I am a diffuse nw3.5 at 20 with little advanced balding my family. Most males in my family are a NW3 by the time they reach their late 40's or 50's and stay there. My grandfather is in his 80's and still has an nw1.5 and my other grandfather passed away in his 80's with an NW4. As far as I can tell from talking to my grandparents and family pictures I am going to be the first NW7 in at least 4 generations. BTW nw2 at 22 isn't aggressive hairloss unless it started very rapidly.

Actually NW2 isn't male pattern baldness at all just a mature hairline. I'm a NW2 but my temples are thinning further now and throughout the first 1/2 inch of my hairline is less dense and in the mid anterior some mild thinning that's how I knew I must have male pattern baldness and a miniturization test confirmed it!
