Hey I am just curious about whether you actually notice a lot of shed hairs on the pillow, shower, clothing if you are suffering from genetic hair loss. Or do you just gradually notice a receding hair loss / thinning crown from weaker/less hair growing back?

Sometimes I wake up to literally 25-40 strands of hair on my pillow (short and long), and a lot of them around where my crown rests on the pillow. And this is only my pillow, I lose a lot more just from them randomly falling, and when I shampoo too.

I've lost a lot of hair over the past year and 3 months (generic propecia for 9 months has made absolutely no difference yet), and my crown is noticeably thinning now because I didn't have a ton of hair there in the first place. Everywhere else including sides and temples are just minor diffused hair loss but in time will begin to show damage too if this rate of loss continues uninterrupted.

Thx

It is unclear from your posts that the hair you are noticing all around you were falling even before starting on finasteride or during finasteride. use? If former, then you definitely have Androgenetic Alopecia, and if latter, then it might be the shed that majority users report when they first start finasteride. In which case, you might be now close to growing back new hair.
