Hi guys,
In reading about biotin defficiency on the internet, I am almost certain i have it.
One main cause is prolonged use of oral antibiotics, such as those used for treating acne. I used antibiotics for my acne for around 9 months. The symptoms of defficiency are a red scaly rash around the eyes, which i have had ever since taking the antibiotic, conjuctivitis, which i had for over two weeks, and hair loss.
This would explain some of my shedding and/or thinning of my individual hairs, but it wouldn't explain my hairline beginning to recede would it?
I've stopped the antibiotic and have begun taking biotin supplements.
So my question is, should i wait to begin treating my hair loss until my biotin levels are back to normal, or is recession definately a sign of male pattern baldness and should i begin with propecia?
Thanks guys
