Hi Guys,
I am a newbee. I am 25yrs old, II - IIA on Norwood and strongly commited to regrow hair. I guess I found the best place to discuss abt Hair Loss issues. I have a couple of questions.
1)Did anyone use Hair genesis products? If yes? How are the results?
2) Does Saw Palmetto has negative Effects(esp sexual)?
3)Do we get back to normal (incase of sideeffects) when stopped the treatment?
I am open to take any opinions/Answers to above questions. Is anyone trying a safer treatment which is working. Please do respond.

Dont waste your money on that crap. You can get pure saw palmetto at any place that sells vitamins for $3-$8 a bottle. They just added a fancy name and made up testimonials to charge you out the ***.

Hey Chaotic, Thanks for you early reply..I read in the discussion form somewhere that SP is weak when used alone it has to used with other ingredients. So Iam researching abt Hair genesis products. Are you using SP alone or Have u used hair genesis products? or If SP bought from local store what other herbsneed to taken with SP.

By why would you want to use SP?

SP is supposed to work by inhibiting DHT, so why not use something which is proven to inhibit DHT much better than SP i.e. finasteride?

Im just as new as you are to all this, so Im definately not an expert. However, when I first started looking into this i was going to try procerin, which is basically the exact same thing as Hair genesis. I asked the respected posters here about it and got pretty much gave the same response I gave you. To answer your question though, I am on Rexall Standardized 320 mg Saw Palmetto. If you dont want to risk the short term, and possibly long term side effects of finasteride and want to go with saw palmetto like I chose to do, make sure you get the standardized because it contains 85-95% fatty acids and sterols which promotes bioactivity. And its roughly 1/5 the price of a bottle of hair genesis capsules. (both are 60 softgels/bottle). In addition to the SP, Im using American Crew Revitalize Shampoo and Conditioner (Also contains SP as well as copper peptide), Nizoral 2% 3 times a week, and Folligen Lotion for my hairline. Im at the beginning stages of hairloss, and right now only my hairline and temples are starting to bald. im going to give this "natural" treatment a shot for at least a year, and if my hairline continues to recede, I'll probably just accept it. To me, something as cosmetic as hairloss isnt worth the risk of using finasteride and screwing around with my hormones.

Fair enough thats your choice. But you have to remember finasteride (propecia) is approved by the FDA. and these natural products could also mess with your hormones in a way... Think about it carefully..

I understand that, but wasnt vioxx FDA approved as well? Regardless, my doctor recommended I try Saw Palmetto first, and if I didnt notice any improvement then try finasteride. He said Saw Palmetto is safer and has had no reports of side effects other than upset stomach if its not taken with food. finasteride on the other hand, has many documented side effects including decreased libido, impotence, decreased volume of ejaculate, and man boobs. The whole point of wanting to regrow hair for most people including me is attractiveness, which leads to sex. What good is having a head full of hair if you cant even nail the women you attract with it? I know a lot of people say "if you experience side efffects, just stop taking them and everything will return to normal" but that isnt a proven theory.
