to try keep it simple and hopefully get some answers, and possibly rule out my worries towards early onset of male pattern baldness.
i have been worried for a while about how my hair feels to be thinning..
my hairstyle for many years (6years+) had involved very aggressive styling (straightening, backcombing, gels, hairsprays, brushing out hairspray a few times a day etc)
i noticed at the begining of the year that around the crown and the back of my head my hair was much finer than it used to be (my assumption was and still partly is that this is like a form of traction alopecia caused by the overprocessing/styling), so i immediatley cut my hair alot shorter and stopped using any form of heat on it, and just in general was alot more careful with it..
anyway 5months of being careful and treating my hair alot better, it still feels much finer that it used to (not much change since jan, has thickened up a little) (i have had a few stressfull periods lately, loss of job in april, serious relationship stresses etc which i think may have contributed to this)
the areas that were the worst in January definitely have some regrowth, however they don't seem to be growing as the same rate as the rest of my hair, they initially felt quite stubbley, now they have been growing but at a much slower rate than usual, i asked my hairdresser about this and she told me it was most likely because of how damaged the hair follicle is, i spotted a post last night about "hair miniturization" and it immediately made me panic about male pattern baldness again like i did in jan.
so yea, a few questions i have regarding hairloss..
pics of crown under camera flash and normal stood direct under light, to my eyes doesnt appear to be any radial receeding?

hair miniturization does not necesserily mean male pattern baldness?
If this was due to the start of male pattern baldness i would expect to see gradual thinning radiating from the crown, as opposed to *all over thinning*?
I havent noticed any receeding at all, just all over thinning, is this possible with male pattern baldness? (when i say all over i mean parts that wouldnt see complete hairloss even with severe male pattern baldness)
also, dad is a nw6, maternal grandfather is mid 80's with great hair.
should i be taking a trip to a specialist and have him check just to be sure (and possibly start meds if it is male pattern baldness), or am i just being paranoid and overly concerned?
thanks for any help, this has caused me some concern as of late,
regards, best of luck to all of you.
