Hair Falling Out In The Shower. Is My Hair Thinning?

Over the past few months I've been noticing a lot of hair coming out in the shower, some on my pillow, in my hat. Running my hands through my hair once I'll usually get a few strands.

I'm 26, no one in my family is completely bald, but my grandpa and uncle on my mom's side definitely have/had receding hairlines. I don't know how I should feel about my crown, some photos it looks alright in others not so much. All the crown photos are from this past week.

I have an appointment for a derm already, but it won't be for a while yet. My GP told me in May that it was because I had lost about 30 pounds over the span of a few months but the hair keeps coming out in the shower.

i think it could be the start. Its not a good sign when hair easily comes out. It doesn't really matter if your dad or paternal grandfather are full heads. One family member with strong balding genes is unfortunately enough. same for me.
If shedding doesn't bother you, try to relax and take pictures every couple of weeks. If its does bother you, start looking in to treatment.

Your hairline looks a bit higher but you seem to have a very full head of hair.

If anything I would say your hairline is maturing without showing classic signs of baldness.

Just go to a derm and perhaps get a biopsy if you really want to know.

Ya I'll have to wait until my derm appointment. Until then, no point in worrying too much.
Thanks for the input guys.

Funny, I just wrote a thread pertaining to people in this situation.

You are fine now but be very careful how you proceed next. Lots of guys out there are too quick to hop on the big 3 at the first sign of hair fall and destroy their hair because of the meds, which are meant to treat male pattern baldness, something I don't believe you have.
