Hair Condioning Without Loosening Hair from Base

I couldn't imagine washing my piece without using hair conditioner after. It'd be way too dry.

I know you guys avoid knots/poly base when conditioning but what else can be done to avoid hair loss from conditioner?

I didn't know this was a problem? But I wear UTS so maybe you're referring to loosening of knots on a lace system.

Yes I've heard conditioner is bad for knots on lace hair system but not sure how to actually condition all the hair without it getting on the base.
