Never in my life have I been a Norwood 1, I've always had an M shaped hairline before puberty, which always made me uncomfortable with short hair, I'd say a Norwood 1.5. As for my genetics, my dad went bald in his mid/late 30's, started thinning in his early/mid twenties, he has blonde straight fine hair, I have brown thick wavy/curly hair (like my mom's). Neither my paternal nor maternal grandfathers are bald, they both have a full thick head of hair.

Recently I've been noticing my hairline approaching a norwood 2, it looks pretty messed up when I pull it back, non-symmetrical and looks like it's thinning or just hairloss occuring.

I'm not sure if I'm experiencing male pattern baldness or something else, for starters I had a varicose surgery in my nuts almost a year ago and I started noticing this after that, and I've been anorexic for almost 3 years, underweight, poor diet, and my VITAMIN D and VITAMIN B12 levels are down below hell, doctors were surprised how I'm still functioning. They also told me that Those two Vitamins specifically cause hair loss and I have dangerously low levels of both of them.

So, can whatever recession I'm experiencing be due to poor health? Or am I going through male pattern baldness? I've had minor thinning on top, I used Garlic and Onion Therapy for 2 months and now has pretty much thickened up.

Need honest answers, thank you.

Oh and I'm only 19.

Oh and my shedding never exceeds the normal amount of 100-125 hair per day, but there are days where I don't shed at all, and days where I shed like crazy. I've also had sever chronic depression for 5 years.

what did you use to hide the smell?
anyway vitamins deficit can be real but 90% of time it's the genetic, try some supplement then talk with the Doctor again if it doesn't work

You have to understand 95% of the time hair loss can be attributed to male pattern baldness, perhaps post a picture.
The fact you even said it's turning into what appears to be a Norwood 2, gives more reason to believe it is male pattern baldness.

Nobody on here will be able to say for sure which factor is causing your hair loss as non of us are doctors it might be just one factor in your life or a combination of them all. Your main priority is getting your health in order and getting treated for the depression. As you suffer from anorexia I'd suggest discussing with your Doctor a treatment of mirtazipine (remeron) in the states . It's a very fast acting antidepressant that also increases appetite and indeed sometimes it's prescribed for this sole purpose . It's a modern drug and very effective . I'm not a doctor but work as a counsellor, we are not trained in medicine so a trip to the docs . You can treat your hair loss with the big 3 - although speak to your Doctor before starting finasteride (propecia) but can't see the harm in you starting minoxidil and nizorol shampoo now .
