Probably better as they will be concentrated, but try and look for one which is a green tea EXTRACT and contains high levels of EGCG.

Green tea contains compounds which block the type I alpha-AR enzyme. This is not the enzyme most closely associated with hair loss. It also contains other antiandrogens and anti-oxidants. Still, there are NO STUDIES showing that green tea regrows hair. There are only anecdotal reports. So when you ask does the pill work as well as green tea, it is hard to give an answer since nobody as proven that drinking green tea will regrow hair.

Green tea is good for other reasons beyond hair loss, and is worth getting more of, but I dont know that a supplement is proven.. i use it becaue it helps me drink less diet coke.

would green tea tablets work just as effectively as as the tea itself?

Work just as effectively FOR WHAT?? Surely you don't mean hairloss, do you? What makes you think DRINKING green tea would have any effect on that?? EGCG is very poorly absorbed from the GI tract...

I wanted to take it because i heard it supresses appetite. I never thought that it would help hairloss. I heard people talk about green tea on these forums on i assumed they could tell me if the pill form compares to the tea.

Of course does drinking green tea (or taking GT-pills) help fighting hair loss. And that's not because of EGCG. EGCG inhibits 5AR-1 and we all know that it is especially 5AR-2 that we need to inhibit to stop hair loss.

But green tea has a positive effect on cytokines, possibly leading to a stop of hair loss. And of course, green tea upregulates the Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SBHG), which binds to testosteron, leading to less serum DHT.
