In 1999, my PCP priscribed a medication (I don't remember the name)which contained sulpur for a dry skin. I uesd it for about a month but unfortunately I applied some of the medication about 2 inches into my front scalp.
I found out later on, may be 6 months down the line that my frontal hair was not growing as quick as the other parts. I tried to find out what was causing the slowing of my hair growth and the only change was the application of the medicine.
I went back to read the label on the medication and that was when I realized that the medication has the capability to cause temporary hair loss.
Since then. I have been losing my frontal hair gradually through thinning and just last week I realized that my frontal hair was just gone. Therefore, I have been compelled to go bald, although I hate it, I don't think I have any choice.
I used Scalp Med about a year ago, even though it was not recommeded for frontal baldness. I did see some improvement but I have stopped using it because it does not support the use in the frontal baldness.
I am actually wondering if that also contributed to my frontal hair being damaged so fast. However, I have hair all over my head, I do not have any loss around my vertex.
Can anyone help me on this if in fact there's a help out there for me. I have heard about laser therapy which improves the situation. Any thought on this?
Thanks.
