You were on finasteride for 17 years, Timi? Jesus!

Even though I feel confident finasteride is pretty safe for me at least, I personally wouldn't take it for more than 5 years.

Enden,

It's sxxxx China hospital can not do the bioavailable testosterone and free testosterone test, I switch three doctors to check my sex hormone and they all said my result is fine, all tests are in normal, all sides are in my mind.

Do you really think both "E2" and "PRGE" are too high? What's the normal range for young man?

I don't know much about thyroid hormones. If your doctor said they were fine, they probably are.

Interesting. I didn't notice that the progesterone level was above the normal range. Your estrogen level is high. The range is stated behind your score, and you can see that the normal range is 11 - 44 pg/ml - and your score is 38...

You're not alone...

When you check the adrenal hormones tomorrow, ask for SHBG and albumin too.

I'm downing...

I got my adrenal hormones resulting today and they all are really high (over range) as following:

ACTH 8AM 87.30pg/ml (ref: <46, the average is 24)
ACTH 4PM 76.70pg/ml (ref: <46, the average is 24)

COR 8AM 24.65 ug/dl (ref: 7.2 - 18.2)
COR 4PM 13.27 ug/dl (ref: 2.75 - 5.65)

I will get my 24hour urine testing tomorrow.

So scared, why got so high ACTH and COR (cortisol )? What's the next actions?

Alarm bells are ringing here i believe propecia has sent your adrenals up the left.

This is a good example for all of HairLossTalk.com to see because i know there is alot of ignorance on this board about the potential for it to mess up thyroids and adrenals.

Speak to your doctor: you know have a good reason to get attention.

Several guys have recovered from taking doses of Prednisone and Dexamethasone for a few weeks to suppress their adrenals thereby letting them reset themselves upon cessation. This is no coincidence.

For your particular case however, this mightn't be the way forward. You might have developed Cushings Disease. You also need to rule out the possibility of a tumour in the pituitary gland which might be a reason for this overproduction of ACTH. An MRI would be needed here. I had one myself not so long ago just as a procaution.

Let us know what your doctor says. Don't freak out.

I don't think this is because of finasteride, but of course, I could be wrong.

Dr Crisler and many other doctors have confirmed the eerie trend of many PFS patients presenting with adrenal problems, so i wouldn't doubt this. That said, the very nature of it always leaves room for doubt.

I got my new blood test in another lab and the testing result below:

FSH 4.3 IU/L (ref: 0.7 - 11.10)
LH 2.8 IU/L (ref: 0.8 - 7.6)
Prolactin 0.21 IU/L (ref: 0.05 - 0.36)
Progesterone 4.2 nmol/L (ref: 0.86 - 2.9)
Total T 21.25 nmol/L (ref: 9.36 - 60.12)
E2 0.20 nmol/L (ref: <0.21)

It seems my Progesterone and E2 are rising and T is downing compare the previous blood test, what the hell mean????

Also, my new FT3,FT4,rT3 result below:

FT3 2.77 pmol/L (ref: 2.30 - 6.30)
FT4 16.76 pmol/L (ref: 10.30 - 24.50)
rT3 0.763 nmol/L (ref: 0.24 - 1.46)

FT3/rT3 = 2.77/0.763 = 3.6, the 3.6 is below 20, does it indicate a rT3 issue?

Besides, I retest the ATCH and COR with blood, they all are very high, but I have normal cortisol with 24 hour urine test which is in range.

Blood:
ATCH 8AM 92.70 pg/ml (ref: <46)
ATCH 4PM 79.90 pg/ml (ref: <46)
ATCH 0AM 72.20 pg/ml (ref: <46)

COR 8AM 21.61 ug/dl (ref: 7.2 - 18.2 ug/dl)
COR 4PM 14.59 ug/dl (ref: 2.75 - 6.65 ug/dl)
COR 0AM 3.41 ug/dl (ref: 0 - 1.54 ug/dl)

24 hour urine test:

24 hour COR 564.235 ug (ref: 398.80 - 663.20)

I also got the MIR and CT test, they show my pituitary is good.

Doctors check my result and tell me all are in normal, do not worried, wait another three monthes for retest... Can I believe her?

Current I take the zinc picolinate 50mg daily, what additional actions can i take???
