I asked what the retention programme is, she told me that bassically its propecia... costs £90 for three months... but it musnt be taken if your partner is trying to get pregnent... which isnt a problem... though im wandering why? are there cases of child birth defects due to this drug?.... i'll guess i'll find out when have my appiotment. I wanted to do it this way even if its going to cost me more than buying online... at least i know im getting the real deal with boots..

I didn't know boots had a hair loss programme, its interesting to know in case I run out of finasteride as I get mine abroad. What other hair loss products do they carry? Do they give you the prescription?

yeah they give you a prescription for finasteride... they obviously already sell rogain 2% & 5% in store along with nizoral and a thousand other shampoo's and vitamins and minerals...

i'll update you next saturday after ive had my consultation...

Just to note there arnt many Boots stores that do the hair retention programme...

its manily the big city stores... im from St Helens, im having to go to the Trafford Centre Boots in Manchester as its the closest in the region that does the hair retention..

Had my boots appt today…

They go through the typical questions… any history of male pattern baldness in famil… etc

£90 day for 3 months supply of Propecia. Works out about 1 per day.

Take picture of basline…

Run through exactly what the drug is…. And this is why everyone in the uk should go to boots IMO…

You read the horror stories on here… But the reality is very different. This drug is very, very safe compared to drugs people have to essentially take in life. The side effects are very very scarce. Also what supprised me is just how widespread and massive this drug is. I went to a Manchester branch…the appointment list is constantly booked. The woman told me just how many success stories she as seen in over a year. in their own stats 9 out of 10 retain what they have, 50% of them experience regrowth and 1/10 are super responders… like some of the guys you will see in the success section of this forum.

They give you your Norwood scale… I was surprised she put me worse off than I thought. She gave me a NWIV.

And although you pay for 3 months in advance, they only supply you with 1 months worth of tables with a follow appointment in a months time so they can evaluate how you’re doing, if there are any side effects… ect. If you was one of the unfortunate 2% with bad sides… they would recommend you stop treatment and refund you for the other 2 months worth.

You cant ask for more than that. If your in the uk…. Go to boots get this sorted Legit, even if its gonna cost you a few quid more than buying online. At least you know your getting the real deal and you feel you are being taken care of properly.

oh and you get a club card, so now ive spent £90 thatsgiven me over £3 in pionts, thats half the price of a bottle of nizoral from instore.... every little helps!!

This is a very good idea from Boots, however the cost is a little high considering you can buy propecia in proscar form from Dr Ashcroft for about £120 for 16+ months supply and it is fully legit with a letter to give to your own GP.

Boots are a chemist and at least if you do have any problems you should be covered, but did you have to sign any disclaimers? it would be very interesting to read the terms to their hair retention programme.

Chancer, have you get a copy of their terms?

When I first went on Propecia back in January 2008, I got one month prescription from my doctor and I went to a Boots chemist and paid £41. So £90 for three months is a good deal.
After the first month I went to Dr Ashcroft also.

I think £30 a month for legit brand propecia (not generic) is alright. Never heard of this Dr. Ashcroft, where is he? How do you get an appointment?
