i was wondering if you take some one that caught their hair loss real early b4 even noticeable and they were good responders to finasteride and min and threw in nizoral 2 times a week, how long they could maintain and hold of hairloss. ive seen some say a good responder on finasteride could be above baseline for 10 years but what about someone on the big 3 for 10 years. just curious to what people think. you think it would be possible for say someone 20 to maintain till their 40 on big 3?

I don't know if you'll get many responses on this just because I imagine a minority of the posters here have been using the big 3 for 10 years, mostly because Propecia has barely been out that long.

But in answer to your question, it is certainly possible :)

The doctor who prescribed me Proscar said that he had been using finasteride for 12 years, and still had the same amount of hair as he did when he started. One of the knowledgeable posters (think it was Michael Barry?) previously posted a comment intimating that he'd had a conversation with either someone from Merck or a physician connected to them, and this person had indicated that Propecia would keep you above baseline for something like 15 years.

I know a guy who has been on finasteride goin on 4 years....and finasteride helped for awhile....but he is DEFINITELY below baseline.

it always depends on how agressive your hairloss is.. dont except to keep it with finasteride if all your close relatives went bald.

Total BS! finasteride DOES NOT mantain hair for such a long time for everyone. It depends on genetics entirely and the severity of your hairloss. Personally I have lost 40 percent of my hair density since I added finasteride 6 months back. I am at the verge of flushing it down the toilet but as most have advised me I want to give it one full year.
