I read the thread through on Immigration and its effect on hairloss sufferers.

Ive posted info on pre-WW2 Japan before and how baldness was very rare there before WW2 but much more common now. Asian-American males have baldness rates that almost mirror the general U.S. population as a whole (but is still behind caucasoid males, who bald the most).

Diet, in particular the lack of soy isoflavones, green tea catechins, and the dramatic increase in insulin resistance due to the high glycemic index (white breads, excess sugars and other simple carbs) lessen SEVERELY the amount of Globulin, the sex-binding hormone that carries around testoserone in your blood and tissues so that it cannot be turned into DHT when it meets up with alpha-5 reductase enzymes.

As the western diet lessens globulin in the newcomers.......they too believe it or not, will be experiencing higher rates of baldness. You dont see it much yet, because these folks were raised on traditional diets in their youth and adolescence. But you will. Ive seen a few Mexicans that exhibit something I never thought they suffered from recently......receeding hairlines right at their temples.

Gloubulin, which lessens the avialable amount of skin testosterone, is something we can easily make more of. Caffeine ups it (but not with a sugar laden cola which will just make you more insulin resistant, which the body will make even more testosterone to compensate for). Green tea catechins and soy isoflavones will help you make more globulin. Eating less saturated animal fat will also see your liver synthesize less alpha five reductase enzymes. As with any anti-androgen routine, it takes about a year to see results. It is important that hairloss sufferers do these dietary things because for instance, ........a guy on finasteride locks up his alpha five reductase type two enzyme located in his root sheaths of his follicles, leading to more free unconverted testosterone.......the alpha five type one enzyme is located in his sebocytes and sebaceous glands RIGHT NEXT DOOR to his follicles. DHT is DHT. Excess testosterone just gets converted to DHT in this fashion (and reabsorbed back in the skin) for a fresh attack on his hair. Sort of negating the good effects of finasteride. This is why modifying your diet to a hair healthy one is important. Globulin is your friend if you have male pattern baldness genes.

Unfortunately for a lot-of poor-English skilled newbies in America, web site info like this will be unavailable to them (until they master a new and complicated language) so some of them will no doubt be starting a McDonalds twice a day diet and wondering why in the hell they are receeding at their temples (like Im sure alot of Japanese were in the seventies and eighties) and experiencing more androgen related disorders like prostate problems and acne (have seen that too in a few Mexicans, who I didnt think suffered from it much). Little hint, ......avacodos, a staple of the Mexican diet, has the highest naturally occuring amount of beta sitosterol of any fruit or veggie.

Gardener,

Ive piddled around looking at things I thought would be anti-androgenic....I ran a little self experiment on one wrist with revivogen, which REALLY decreased the body hair on that wrist (despite the proanthocyandrin content) in terms of number, length, pigmentation. Concluding that it really worked.

Beta-Sitosterol, an ingredient in Revivo, Crinagen, Saw Palmetto oil, African Pygeum, and Stinging Nettle is supposed to be the most popular natural on Blairsite.com's forums.

I like to note substances that lower SEBUM secretions in hair/skin because alpha five type one is located in the sebocytes and sebaceous glands of follicles. In this way, I KNOW they are anti-androgenic. I know the substance that is saw palmetto extract has taken a beating in these forums. But the italian study that used it in shampoo, and afer shampoo lotion, and internal had a 67% decrease in superficial sebum in participants. I think it may be a great adjunct to use topically in products (like Revivogen which already has it) for this reason.

Note, I tried Crinagen on the other wrist.............it did very little if nothing, but give me some inflammation and scaling. Im about to start a couple of months of spironolactone back the right wrist again when the hair returns to its normal growth as via the left (so I have something to compare it to).
