Hello, everyone. I'm 23, about to be 24, and have been worried about my hair ever since going on Accutane last August and noticing some hairs falling out. I realize that I may come off as very naive & stupid, and I apologize for that. I've been to two dermatologists, and one hair specialist, all of which say my hair is fine, and the spot on my crown that concerns me is nothing but a hair whorl. I come here for the humble advice of you guys.

I have an album created there, with all the photos, since I'm a noob and don't know how to post them here. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

If a hair specialist and two dermatologists told that you are not balding then you are probably not balding.

The only course of action at this point I think is for you just to take detailed pictures every now and then to monitor your hair. Do not obsess over it just monitor it

Hey man, don't listen to the previous posters. Like you I went on accutane at the age of 16, I started noticing hair loss after discontinuation, and in the beginning no one but me could tell (including dermatologists). It is now two years later and my hair loss situation has not improved at all and instead has gotten significantly worse. If my hypothesis is correct I believe that accutane perhaps causes premature androgenic alopecia, so basically unless there is someway to reverse the changes in our gene expression from accutane we're ****ed.

Edit:

To the people who down voted me, 1 year difference in hair after accutane course:

Accutane can cause hairloss, like alot of drugs. But not male pattern baldness, which he doesn't have.
