Going Bald At 18! // Does .15mg Finasteride Possible To Work?

hello can you guys help me? I dunno what to do save my hair
I have family history of balding both my grandfathers are bald and half of my uncles are bald too nw5
My father and uncles from father side were nw5 at 23
I started to have rescission at temples in the my beginning of 17
I went on Minoxidle when I was 17 and STOPPED! when I stopped I lost big amount of hair
Not only my temples even the hair behind it was thinning too bad, (I wasn't even able to style my hair)
but I went back on Minoxidle at 18 and it kept my temples and hair around it the same (Improved it not too much)
But my concern right now how to maintain the hair I have? Im on minoxidle
But really scared that the hair that I have will be thining in the future! Im thinking about .15mg cos im really scared of it
what do you think guys?
Is .15mg finastride enough to maintain my hair? I just want dosage to maintain and slow it I dont want crazy result and lose my penis

How exactly are you going to cut it into 0.15mg without turning it into a powder and diluting it in liquid? You can cut a tablet into an eighth by cutting into fourths first and then cutting that fourth in half, which would make it 0.125mg daily.

0.125mg daily is still going to inhibit up to 50% of your DHT because finasteride has mostly a flat dose response, though people do report less side effects at that dosage.

(btw someone should really make a better graph for this to better discern between 0.01mg and 0.2mg)

Im sorry I dont really know about finasteride! But I've seen threads here people taking .25 mg finastride
I thought you get it with the dosage you want, not 1mg and cutting it
So if I got a 1mg tablet and cut it into 4 it means it's 0.25 mg right?
can you tell me please what's is lowest dosage that i can take without being concerned about the side effects?

You say you are thinning behind the hairline too which means for sure you will for sure be bald without taking finasteride (and might continue even while taking it) so even though I hate recommending finasteride to people under 21 in your situation I would take it.Try 0.25mg instead due to convenience with the pill cutter and talk to your doctor. I currently take 0.25mg per day since 5 months from cutting a 1mg pill and my family history of balding is pretty similar to yours. Some people get side effects due to the decreased DHT levels so if the dose is effective and you are prone to getting sides then you will get them regardless of 1mg or 0.25mg since they inhibit around the same amount. so did you notice any side effect through the 5 months? especially on your libdo?
and does it work with you? did you notice that it maintained your hair?

Im almost 22 right now. Its hard to notice changes in libido tbh. I've been pretty busy lately so my libido might be bit lower than I remember it being. During the summer it was still very high but now that im more busy its still okay but probably not as super high but then again this could be psychosomatic. Trust me its not like your gonna lose all interest lol.

My hair was shedding incredibly fast from april to september i was losing over 400 hairs per day with really intense scalp burning on the vertex it was insane. I started finasteride in june and the shedding dropped down in september to around maybe 20-30 hairs in the shower. My hairline is only slightly worse now that it was an year ago but the density is much lower. Overall I am still below what I had when I first started taking finasteride but the shedding only recently stopped. This is why it is important to start treatment on time because there is no guarantee of gaining back anything that you lose.
