So basically I've been on dutasteride since last year August, and initially I responded well enough. Then around 3 months later a shed started, and I've been losing ground since. Sometimes it looked a little better, but often worse. Now I'm of worse than I was at baseline me thinks, going back to 2009.
My first concern was a receding hairline, it stayed about the same, but all the corners around it thinned out along with top diffuse thinning since last shed. Noticed it first in May this year, and hoped it would be gone by now but it's only looking worse. My thread can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=59768&st=0&sk=t&sd=a .
When I first started combatting my loss I began with Finasteride and 2% Minoxidil. I gave up on finasteride after 7 months, and moved on to dutasteride cause I thought I needed something stronger (also use 5% minoxidil since a year and a half) and I responded good the first few months on the hairline. I still have some new hairs sprouting there, but it's minimal compared to the damage done. The loss looks rather patchy, and I lost hairs from the sides as well.
That's why I'm thinking giving finasteride a try again. Going to visit a doctor about this next week, but I was wondering what others here thought would be the best thing for me to do...
For the record I'd like to add that I have had no side effects (or at least noticeable ones) on either treatment. And before I thought this hairloss was Telogen Efflivium, but it's getting worse and worse. Should I ask my doctor about this? And would he know the answer to all these questions??
EDIT: So yeah... Could I get a reply or something???
