Getting Off Minoxidil

I have been using Minoxidil 5% for 2 weeks and I have shedding, which I found out is normal.
I found out that that over a period of years Minoxidil stops working, so it seems not to be worth it. My reason for wanting to stop has nothing to do with the shedding, it is the long term I am thinking of.

I have a lot of hair, but lost some, the purpose is prevention.

I watered down the Minoxidil by 50% to slow down the shedding, starting yesterday.

I want to get off, what is the best way to do it? Do I just stop, or wait to the cycle is over?

If the purpose is prevention get off minoxidil. 2 weeks is nothing you can just quit.
Get on finasteride if you want to maintain.

OK, I get off, but I lost some hair. Does it grow back if I stop using the Minoxidil? In others words, since the hair shed because I used Minoxidil, do I need to keep using it to get the hair back?

What is minoxidil could buy you time? 2 - 3 years maybe until a more effective treatment comes out. Nothing is guaranteed, but by not treating your hair loss you are pretty much giving up the battle before it even starts.

With how crappy min is I'd say save you money. What does minoxidil cost everyone a year? $300? I'd put that towards PRP.

minoxidil works for some and not for others, I'm almost done with the first bottle and my hair is already like it was in 2012, I only apply in the middle where the thinning is.

How did you water down the minoxidil?
