Getting a haircut: "Texturizing"

I got my haircut today and the chick cutting recommended "texturizing" the hair. I said what does that mean and she says "it thins out the hair." I said no thanks as I had no idea what the outcome would look like. Why would anyone want to do that, let alone someone with thinning hair like me?

i really dont understand why barbers do this..my barber did this once before i even knew what he was doing, he was digging at my hair with these texturizing shears... why would anyone, even people with thick heads of hair, want to be thinned out? Everytime he reaches for this things i stop him immediately.

Omg I went to this barbers a few years ago, and this stupid woman did that, and every time she did it it felt like she was pulling a million hairs out. Since then my hair has never been the same (although I don't blame her for hairloss)

i use to get my hair texturized, i always liked getting it done. The reason for getting your hair texturized is so that you can do differnt things with your hair. Like spiking your hair. Usely alot of people get it done if they have thickhair and so they can do more styles with their hair. I do not recomend getting it done if you're thining. Last month i told the hair dresser that i had thining hair and that i wanted a new hair stlye and she recomened Nioxin hair products. Then she cuts my hair then texturiezes my hair. Doesnt make any sence after i just told her my hair was thinning.

What if you were get it done just to the back and sides? It might help balance out with the norwood area.

My hair used to be very thick so I always used to get it texturised, it makes it easier to style whilst giving it a jagged modern look.

I had it done once. The biotch did it without asking me. She was using these weird scissors and I asked what they were, she said thinning shears or something. I damn near fainted as a wave of panic hit me.

I love the way it looks though and I wear my hair very short. Norwood 3ish.

Mine is always "thinned out" and "texturised"

It makes it look way better.

No one ever notices my thinning, or receding hairline (which is pretty minimal i guess, on one side at least)

Is it good to get it "texturised" even if your hair is thinning and not very long?

Well mine is a few inches, but before when it was cut it was probably 1 1/2 inches or so. I think it's for shorter hair yes, and definately good for thinning.
