After much hassling my doctors I finally convinced one of them at my local surgery (admitedly he has a rep as being a bit "prescription-happy") to prescribe me 5mg finasteride instead of the Propecia which I've just been to Boots to collect.
BUT.... I expected to be given Proscar, instead I was given this generic "Finasteride 5mg" in a simple little blue box. I never even knew such a thing existed other then on these dodgy internet sites. I'm a bit worried now, surely a household name like Boots couldn't be selling fake crap?? It says on the label it's designed for BPH and the tablets are small, odd, triangular shaped white things. The Marketing Authorisation Holder is MPX International Ltd of London and it says they're made in Hungary. All seems a bit shifty to me, has anyone else been given these or heard of them?
On the plus side, 28 of these tablets cost me 20 quid as opposed to the £43 a month I was paying for Propecia!!! 28x5 = 140 days worth, that's one helluva saving!
