to all of you out there who were like i was yesterday, with hair that is getting long and just looking really crappy overall. I was sure that my longer hair was covering up some thinning areas (i'd rather have a bad haircut than look bald) but it was getting really bad and i wanted to see where i was at with short hair. HOLY SHITE my hair looks like 100 times better, i cut it about from 2 inches (maybe a little more) to like barely over an inch, and it looks so much better, best decision i've made in a while, in fact, i'm thinking i may be able to put this hairloss thing out of my head long enough to let my propecia do its work (since i'm only on month three). so if you're worried like i was about cutting it, i really think it will do you good to go to a salon or something, and have them cut it really nicely. good luck to all

I am in the same boat you were, I initially got my hair cut in march or april and I learned in late April that I had the first stages of male pattern baldness or "diffuse thinning" as we all call it. Now I'm afraid to get it cut, fearing that my temples will show, and my bald'sh line i near the crown area. My hair if taken alot of care with, does look allright, but donald trump'sh if I don't. I know there are plenty of others out there with very noticable balding/thinning, and im lucky to be my Norwood, but I'm still afraid. I am however, starting to feel (albeit slowly) better about the future. I have always let my looks be my identity.. so this is hitting home. I want to cut it cut fairly short and go back to light blonde. The lady that cut my hair last time did butcher it though, but she's private where I can give her precise instructions on my hair, as versus the wonderful lady that usually cuts it and does a great job. I get my girlfriend to cut my hair every 10-14 days, It always looks better after the chop.

I would agree that if you have longish hair and are worried about revealing your baldness with a shorter cut, it is suprising how much better it usually looks.

im embaressed to got a hair salon and have my thin sh*t get cut , overall it stress me what the hairdresser thinks about it , also they wash your hair before cutting and and there are thin spots all over so i dont know how she/he will manage to cut it without screwing up somewhere , so i cut it once in a while with no style at all

With cover-ups...gotta go longer. Works better.

i udually cut my hair with a 4 extension on th shaver, then recently went to a 2, and am now chaving my head with a #1 extension and i love it, i have got a bunch of compliments from my friends on how much better it looks. Plus now its easier to aplie the minoxidil and even if it does start to grow back i will still cut it this short.
