Genetic Mutation in Asians Results in Thicker Hair

Researchers discover a genetic mutation linked to thicker hair.

So basically East Asians are different than other races. Africans and Caucasians have a standard version of the gene called EDAR, but Asians have a mutated version. This variation produces cosmetically thicker hair and less breast tissue.

Here is an article: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/15/science/studying-recent-human-evolution-at-the-genetic-level.html

I wonder if a possible hair loss treatment can come from this knowledge?

Also, do you think Asians respond differently to current treatments?

Doubtful one gene doesnt mean much since male pattern baldness is a bunch of genes. They probably respond the same way as us I mean there is a lot of variability in how anyone responds to treatments.male pattern baldness though is barely a treatable condition I mean if your advanced norwood you dont have much hope getting that hair back with anything out now.
