generic proscar... bad idea??

Well I didn't notice until I got home but my pharmacy gave me GENERIC proscar when I wanted brand name.. Proscar is already cheap enough so there was no need for that really.. now i have 45 pills.. cut into quarters... so here I am with half a year.. I didn't pay anything for it since my insurance covered it but I don't know if i should lob the bottle and get the real thing..

Idk what the generic is.. it just says "Finasteride" on it.. Anyways this is is my first time being on any sort of medication outside of the occasional tylenol...


Anyone else take generic proscar?

If price isn't an issue and you have been doing well on brand name Proscar I would most definitely not switch to generics. Not worth the risk. I would go back and raise hell honestly if you were supposed to get the real deal.

I personally do not feel that generics are of the same quality or consistency as the brand name. When you talk to a doctor they will say oh it's the same thing, but sometimes you have to try different brands to see what works best for you. That makes absolutely no sense and is contradictory if they are supposedly the same thing.
