General questions regarding propecia, rogaine, and nioxin

Two questions

1. Does propecia work on the crown of the head?

2.I was able to get a prescription from my physician for finasteride 5mg (proscar) thankfully. What should I use in combination with proscar to get the best results? Thinning seems to be greatest on the crown and near the front. My hair cutter said to use nioxin 3 system shampoo because it will help thicken the hair you already have, but im not sure If I buy that. What should I use?

Two questions

1. Does propecia work on the crown of the head?

It works everywhere on the scalp, except very minimally, if at all, on the sides (what's considered to be "donor hair" by the transplant industry).

By the way, I'm curious to know what you personally consider to be the "crown" of the head. Can you tell me?

Crown, or vertex shown in image below.

Should I just take finasteride by itself to fill in the vertex of my head. Or do I probably need to take both finasteride + rogaine for the vertex to grow in well?
