I am on finasteride and still have a lot of frontal hair and on the hair line. Is finasteride likely to save this hair? because it say's it is not for temples and hair line.

The general consensus seems to be that finasteride has not really been proven to help the frontal and temple regions. However, you are likely to find LOTS of stories of people who say that it at the very least helped them keep what they had.

Personally I have not yet found any success with keeping my hairline. It's itchy and only seems to get worse. :dunno:

thanks for your response. I'll be happy if I can keep what I've got but it's only been 3 months. Has finasteride worked for the rest of your scalp? thought of adding minoxidil? im using it on the temples, really in hope it stops further loss.

Do you know why they say it doesn't work on the hairline or temples? It's because the clinic study that Merck ran was on Norwood 3's and beyond.

Any doctor that specialise in the field of hairloss will tell you wherever hair is susceptible to DHT, DHT blockers have a great chance of working.
