Frontal diffuse thinning...

Sides are thick. Crown is thick. Front is...diffuse. Been using finasteride 6 years, minoxidil 5, and have now replaced finasteride with dutasteride for the past 9 months and things are worse than ever.

I still have my hairline, but by are those hairs getting further and further apart. How do you battle this stubborn foe that is diffuse thinning? I'm starting to wonder if oral 5ARs don't aggravate the problem (hence finasteride not helping and dutasteride making things even worse)

Ive heard that dutasteride can cause a major shedding in the frontal region when started but of course that is only what I have heard. I dont think finasteride will do this and if it does then it should be only temporary. Either that or you would have lost that hair anyways even if not starting on the finasteride.

Perhaps stepping up on the minoxidil to 15% for the frontal area along with spironolactone? or even revivogen?

Hairline was much less diffuse before dutasteride. hair transplants are not a good option for diffuse thinners due to shock loss.

Doesn't the shocked hairt come back though. I am thinking about going for my 3rd procedure. It's been over a 8 year period

md, what kind of results did you have with your first 2 transplants.
