frizzy uneven hairs?

My head is beginning to fill with kind of curly hairs with uneven textures, although my hair is naturally straight. I have been losing my hair for about 3 or 4 years, at the temples and crown and have noticed the odd weird curly hair throughout, but they have increased rapidly in recent months. These frizzy hairs are sometimes thicker than normal and darker in colour (and stronger), others are about the same thickness as normal hair. They are most densely populated at my crown although they can be found all over the male pattern baldness prone part (top) of my head. some of these hairs start thick at the root and get thinner the my hair is also fairly dry and weak. my regimen is as follows:
revivogen treatment and shampoo 3-4 years (slowed hair loss but didnt halt it)

nizoral 2% once/twice a week - 2 years (seems to help deal with inflammation, for a day or so after use, but doesnt completely stop the itching and sensitive scalp)

propecia august - november 2006. stopped due to joint problem. began noticing increasing frizzy hairs around october, which coincided with my start at university (stress, drink, poorish diet etc). maybe losing a bit more hair at this time, hard to tell though.

december tricomin - hasnt seemed to have any affect, not helped inflammation. improved diet and less stress, frizzy hairs (i think) continued to appear.

january 5th ish- green tea extract 200mg and resveratrol (NSI), 1000mg omega3 caps, multivit, maxi-hair caps. no improvements so far.

so can anyone tell me whats with these hairs? has revivogen stopped working completely and my male pattern baldness worsened? anyone else experienced this kind of thing? my automatic thought is that its a bad sign, but the fact that many of these hairs are thicker and darker and stronger than normal hairs seems to contradict this. can anyone help?

thanks.

Yeah, when I was 17 I started to see a lot of wirey, ultra-thick black curly hairs (I have straight hair) at the top of my head. I called them the "X-file hairs" and I even pull some of them just to show them to my friends. God, they were really thick.

I took it as a funny phenomena, until in the next months I started balding just were they were... I got no bald spots or recession, but the diameter of my hair (on top, near the neck, over the ears, and specially on crown) got smaller.

I started to smoke at the time, doing a few drugs, I lost a lot of weight too, and wore my hair shoulder-length. I say it because sometimes I entertain my mind (because of the unusual balding pattern and the existence of those weird hairs) trying to find other cause apart from male pattern baldness to my thinning hair, and those were the main changes I introduced to my system at the time.

The fact is those hairs dissapeared, but so my past density on top... When I was 24 and I started treatments, I saw a couple of them again.

Pretty strange, I can´t find an easy explanation for those hairs.... I guess if this is frequent among balding men...
