Freaking Out. Please Give Advice. Don't Know What To Think.

Hey everyone.

I posted a small thread on this a couple days ago and it didn't get much response. But things are worse for me now and I really need your guys input.

I got a new type of Finasteride from my doctor last week. 'Auro-Finasteride'. I was caught off guard from the beginning because it was just loose pills in a pill container. The past two times I got the pills in a package.

I then tried to split them with my pill cutter and they are completely different than the proscar I got before. These pills pretty much crumble and are more powdery. I google imaged the pill and they look real though. Exact match.

Now I'm shedding more and noticing my crown, which was maintaining and even improving, is now getting worse.

Could these pills be bad? Fake? Could it just be another shed?

Very discouraged right now as I was finally forgetting about my hair before I got these pills. Now I'm back where I started. Stressing very hard.

Please let me know what you think.

The finasteride my derm prescribed me come loose in a bottle...the typical see through orange prescription bottle with a white cap. I don't split them though because they're 1mg.

How long has it been since you last took the other finasteride? (unsure what you were taking). Pills fake or bad - almost 0% chance. You think if drug companies were giving out fake/bad pills they wouldn't get sued to the ground? If it is bothering you this much you should call your doctor and ask for a prescription of the finasteride you were taking before. Bet it is still the same stuff though.

First 4 months it was proscar. Next 4 months was sandoz. I think I will go and try to get some of the other stuff.

Why do you keep switching up the prescription? Why not just refill the same one?

I don't know ? I go back to see my doctor when I run out , he asks how it's working , and writes me another one.

Weird. My prescription allows me to renew it without going in to see the doctor. Seems like a waste of money to schedule an appointment every time you need a refill. My 90 days worth of pills are cheaper than an appointment with my dermatologist.
But yeah I would just ask for the same prescription every time.

Yeah my Doctor gave me 8 months worth this time. Guess he's getting tired of seeing me. I'm gunna ride it out and just make sure I get the same type every time from now on for peace of mind.
