Usually happy former patients of hairtransplants happily go on with their lives. Sometimes, a patient who is a good candidate for a Hair transplant will be paid by the Doctor to "show his hair" to would be patients or be a salesperson for a firm.
Im usually very leery about former hair transplant patients spending an excessive amount of time on hairloss forums talking up hair transplants and trying to get others to get them. Someone could be using their pics to sell transplants or they themselves could work for a Doctor, trying to drum up business.
Ive had a transplant. The thing you have to remember about them is that they can look very good now. BUT if you will have extensive hairloss in the future, youre screwing yourself getting one now. Norwood 5-plus people will not have enough donor hair for good coverage with hair tranplants. The back of your head will look unaturally thin if several thousand plugs are taken out of there. This is why YOU NEVER SEE THE BACKS OF MENS HEADS IN BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS OF HAIR TRANSPLANT PATIENTS. Its the thinness in the donor area.
Oh, by the way, if you develop a back bald spot, youre really screwed. Most docs REALLY dont like transplanting this area.
ALSO, if a gene therapy that genetically imprints good DNA to shrunken follicles (vellus hairs) on your head comes along and you have had a transplant.......YOURE SCREWED. You will have destroyed those follicles with the plugs. So you will be walkin' around with so-so hair while everyone else looks like Tom Cruise.
