Hey guys,

So after 20 months on minoxidil, (changing from a shitty local 7% with ra, to xandrox 15+, to spectral dnc and dnc-l) im forced to get off.

I noticed when i started nearly two years ago an immediate negative effect on my skin texture and appearance of fine lines. I shrugged this off, as i wasnt on the boards and didnt know it as was a common side effect. Its fair to say through anti aging creams etc. i was able to ward of any further signs of aging over the next year (i was only 20 after all) except dark circles around eyes became quite prominent. Now about 8 months down the line from starting dnc-l its got to the stage where i am more concerned over my skin than hair.

Esppecially over the last 3-4 months. Deep under eye lines, enlarged pores, dark circles. (all something that were non existent before treeatment) are very prominant. Iv'e tried better skin creams, skin supplements, cutting down on minoxidil, and nothing has improved.

I guess i just have to bite the bullet and get off this demon juice. Im amazed it doesnt effect everyones skin one way or the other, (but good for you if it doesnt. Your lucky. Theres heaps of threads over at HLH about these sides)

So my questions to you are. Do you think i should change to a less penetrative minoxidil (sides def picked up after starting dnc) . Could start dr lees #500 minoxidil 5% (should have less absorbed systematically?)

Or i give spectral RS, and prox-n a go??
Im already using spironolactone which i feel works well.

Cheers

You chould try to cut down to 1 per day. Many people had sucess with maintaining and you got 20 months behind you so probably not much to gain now.
If you feel that the sides def picked up after starting dnc its safe to say that you should hold off that one for a while and see what happends. I find #500 easy and fast to apply and if you wet your hair first then toweldry its extremely fast drying.

A weak theory of mine. MSM will supposedly a wounderdrug when it come to the skin. Curing acne, scars, wrinkles etc. You chould try that if you find it interesting. Havent recerched it enough to know if that is oral or lotion for the skin stuff, but i do it oral for hairgrowth

Just a a question to you if i may
You use xandrox and spironolactone, do you apply xandrox first and then spironolactone? Do you get the residue on your hands after applying spironolactone making it look like the azelaic acid is sticking to your hand?

mmm yea i think i guess im just concerned as iv'e tried all the skin supps like msm,vit c, GSE, biosil etc. and that cant even limit my minoxidil sides. Im also pretty sure the sides would stem more from when i switched to dnc-l. I might go to 0.5 morn and night of xandrox or #500 maybe. I guess now though as iv'e seen the effect it can have im concerned to not even touch the stuff.

ah i dont use spironolactone in morn. Ive only ever used at night when im not going out and wait about 15mins+ after i apply minoxidil so havnt really noticed mate

If anyones got an opinion on this regime please chime in.
Xandrox 5% every morn or any other generic 5%. And just use 0.5ml

Night 1. spectral RS, then spironolactone

Night 2. Prox-N .

(i dunno im just trying to think of an effective maintanence regime while cutting down greatly on minoxm, and without having to fork out for pricey RU or fluridal)
