I guess the more the better. However, like minoxidil, that after 2 hours or so all has been absorbed, you can wash your hair. The maximum fluridil has reached your hair follicle, or at least is on the way there and is underneat the scalp skin, so washing the left overs on the top of the scalp won't harm its work.
