what's popping forum. this is my first time posting but i have around 1 month reading this board. im a 24 year old really deppressed and anxious young guy. I lost about 40% of my scalp on top in the last 3 month.it's more like diffuse but in some part its more noticible. im not sure if i lost on the side since i always have it low cut there. My hair loss went crazy. well my doctor believed is coming from how anxious and depressed my life has been since 1 year ago. Lost a love one etc. i feel i had episodes of hair loss before but never recovered. anyways i tought it was Telogen Effluvium becuase of the extreme and rapid hair loss i had but then again its noticible on top. as far as my fam history i have a large family and only one unckle of mine is bald from 5 and even he started at his 30. Then no one else has hair loss. Pops and grandpa greatgrand pa had and died with a head full of hair. But not even my thinning unckles sons which have hair loss history on both sides of their family are bald. He has 2 one of them been thinning slowly but never at my age and he still has a decent amount of hair at 30. this is so surprising to me thats why it hurts so much. IT was unexpected.
anyways my question is it possible that this aggressive hair loss i had in the last 3 month is a telogen effluvium episode? i dont see my hair getting finer. it seems more as im loosing them and not seeing them thin. I read that male pattern baldness is a time consuming thing even if it's aggresive becuause the hair goes through cycles ETC. Please help me out. It will be appreciated.

I hate to say this, but, if you are losing hair in the typical male balding 'pattern' area, then you probably have an early case of Male Pattern Baldness.

I can certainly contemplate the possibility that your emotional situation might have contributed to a shed. I would suggest you start using Nizoral shampoo 2 or 3 times a week. It's a mild antiandrogen, and it fights hair irritation that exacerbates hairloss and would probably be a good call for you.

Other than that, I hope you find some peace in your life. My condolences on your loss. Keep your head up, and remember that your life is full of possibility every day.

Thank for the reply. can this shed your talking......

Thanks for your reply. can this shed your talking about recover. i mean even if my stressed out life i accelarated male pattern baldness (which i cant find one study no where how it's possible) doesn't our hair goes through a cycle that makes it impossible to shed almost 40% of hair in a 3 to 4 month period. I know people with both side of fam, greatgranparents and all with hairloss history and still didn't shed so fast like i did.

I have lost roughly 40% of hair on the top of my scalp over the winter.I had a painful and itchy scalp. My hair loss has gone back to what it was before i rapidly started losing it which has gone down from 50-70 hairs each wash which was everyday to now which is 10-15.mine was a diffuse thinning on the top of my scalp. And when wet i was seeing the horseshoe pattern.but since i have noticed regrowth coming through on its own without treatment except ive been using Nizoral shampoo. The doctor said mine was more than likely due to stress and said it should settle down and balance itself out.
