Hello all and happy Labor Day!

A little introduction:
I am 40 and have been thinning since 30. I'm a diffused thinner and I would say a Norwood 3-4ish but having said that, if I style my hair right I look like a 2 and overall am taken for 33-34(or was :( )

I was on revivogen/2% minoxidil/Nisim shampoo for 5 years with good results. I have always done minoxidil in the morning and Revivogen at night.

5-6 year result: I held my baseline well and had really good thickening with minimal shedding. I have never posted, because it was really working for me and besides the occasional freakout (you know the one where you go to a freinds house, use there bathroom and there's a different mirror setup...yah that one). I was pretty happy.

I seemed to be thinning a little more last year so I bumped it up to 5%. This was followed by a major thickening and then back down to slightly below baseline.

HERE'S THE DEAL AND WHY I'M FINALLY POSTING
In the last 4-6 weeks my hair has taken a uturn. I really didn't go through a shed just major thinning of my existing hairs. I didn't change a thing...besides maybe a different brand of minoxidil or a new batch of revivogen, it was status quo. My problem is, in the last 4-6 weeks my hair has reacted as though I just cold turkey stopped EVERYTHING...it was that fast. I went from no visible scalp from the side to all visible diffused scalp from the side.

I always figured if the minoxidil/reviv/nisim/...ever stopped working it would be a gradual thinning not this BAM...b-bye.

So I thought I would pick your brain for some ideas. This comes at the worst time by the way as I just met someone much younger and this would really suck if I couldn't get it under control. My only ideas as to why this happened so quick are:

Bad batch of minoxidil
Bad batch of Revivogen
I lost 10 lbs in a week and took some dieretics for a photo shoot
Stress?
Everything just decided to stop working suddenly?

I just want to get back to where I was 8 weeks ago, thats all. So I now reach out to you all and see if you have any ideas whatsoever. Just so you know, for now I am not messing with Propecia...maybe in the future but not right now. But I'm up for any ideas, I thought about trying laser therapy at this local wellness center, starting a good vitamin routine, and detoxing, but that's about all I came up with.

Thanks, B

It could just be that you aren't responding as well to the treatments since it has been 5 years.

Though I did notice that you were only using the 5% minoxidil. Pretty sure that there are 12% and 15% versions of minoxidil out that are supposed to work MUCH better. **Also make sure you are using the LIQUID version since the foam does not absorb as well**

Luckily you haven't used finasteride(propecia, fincar, etc.) yet. I'd recommend starting that as it would probably give you another 5-10 years of stability.
