My hair was kinda thin to start with but it started really thinning out on top of my head in the past year and there's some receding and I'm only 21, hair gets really greasy/oily and flaky after a day or even half a day of washing my head. I'm really thinking about starting from dutasteride rather than finasteride to see some regrowth, thickening and halting the hair loss...
Since it reduces sebum production better than finasteride I think it would be better, because none of the "drying" shampoos help.. It just dries the hair itself but it gets oily real quick.
Will be getting blood tests done, and talk with trichologist, but so far dutasteride seems like best option. Can't be bothered to put topical on my head 2 times a day, hopefully antiandrogens will be enough.
Opinions on starting straight from dutasteride(avodart)? Only iffy thing about it is that the dutasteride dose for enlarged prostate is 0.5mg, and I would be taking the full dose daily, while finasteride is 5mg, and I would be taking only 1.25mg daily...
